We are the KEYS Award Winner this Week!

Our class was chosen during GMT (Good Morning Taylor) to be the KEYS award winner for the yellow pod this week.  The KEYS award is given to a class who demonstrates KEYS behavior in the hallway:
K - Keep your hands down
E - Eyes forward
Y - Your voices off
S - Slow and steady walk
This year our KEYS award is a super glittery rock guitar!  Here are some pictures of us with our KEYS award.  Mrs. Gallagher is in some of the pictures and our student teacher, Ms. Pusl is in some of the pictures.

Congratulate your child on his great behavior in the hallway that helped us earn our award! :)

Sally Foster Fundraiser

Sally Foster Fundraiser
Kindergarten teachers and the PTA would like to remind you that you have one more weekend to sell cookie dough and passport books.  The LAST DAY is Monday, September 20thIt is very important that your fundraiser kit is returned to school no later than Monday, September 20th, even if your child did not sell anything.  If you know that you will not be selling anything this weekend, please return the passport book along with the rest of the kit TOMORROW, Friday.
Teachers would like to start accounting for all of the books.  Thanks for all of your help making this a successful fundraiser for Taylor.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

We have been having a great time with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!  Here are a few pictures of the kids having fun learning in the literacy centers.  Some friends are matching upper and lower case letters on Chicka Boom tree shapes, some friends are acting out the book with our very own Chicka Boom tree, other friends are making the letters in their name march up a Chicka Boom tree, and still other friends are matching friends' names and pictures to complete our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom poem.  We also have friends practicing Word Wall words on the dry erase board, or learning letter sounds on the computer.  If your child would like to visit http://www.starfall.com/ at home, it is a great ABC site.  Be sure to talk to your child about the fun activities he has been doing at school with letters and names.
